Question for YOU: What is a Hootenanny?

Today I decided to plunge headlong off the shiatsu recliner into a pile of computer wiring, from which I had to be extracted by my overweight human servant. And when he removed me, he informed me that my life was "a constant hootenanny."

Is this a good thing?

And now a stupid parrot that can't even imitate a burp.

Hootenanny is the country way of saying, "get down, get funky"....

Marv, I would stick with that sleek girl Logitech. This birdie really is a dud.

You'll have to quiz your human on what he meant by that statement. Perhaps he was simply speaking in tongues....

Only if the wiring is not plugged in.

A hootenanny is when you stand around in a corn field telling bad jokes with a curvy blonde who goes on to be a porn star.

No, wait, that's a 'Hee-Haw'...

BTW, do we want to know where you wound up in your fat human that you had to be extracted from him?

Marv:

A hootenanny is a raucous, boisterous festive occasion named after the Egyptian Pharaoh Hootankhaman. The Hootenanny was a yearly revel to celebrate the loss of Pharaoh’s virginity to Boinkus, the Egyptian god of embarrassing one night stands.
The term hootenanny fell out of favor until it was revived by fans of famous Swedish baseball star Harrøld “Hoots” Høøtzenstragengianzer. Periodically, Hoots would begin doing a complicated dance routine on the pitcher’s mound during a game. His gyrations served as a signal to the fans to begin dancing on their own. “Doing the Hoot” became a nationwide craze. Later, P.T. Barnum displayed a nanny goat that would do a dance remarkably similar to The Hoot. The goat was named the Hootin’ nanny. A hootenanny later came to mean any festive occasion. Høøtzenstragengianzer died in 1934 of undiagnosed St. Vitus.

I think it was, in general, a complement Marv, with just a touch of consternation. Human servants, being much larger than their avian masters, must practice patience. Patience can be defined as quite despair disguised as a virtue.

Hootenanny; events throughout the day or night that include but are not limited to joyous carousing, eating, bbq, dancing, music, shooting, drinking, as the hootenanny winds down you may find you maybe want to do some lounging about on the furniture for rest.

A "hootenanny" is a shift supervisor at "Hooters."
